Privacy policy

Last updated: August 25, 2026

This policy explains what data we keep, what we use it for, and how you can ask us to delete it. We aim to ask for the minimum needed to make the site work.

Who we are

Alquimia is an open community with no incorporated legal entity. The community administrators run the platform, the infrastructure and the data stored in it.

What data we keep

Account: when you sign in with Google or Discord we receive and store your name, your email, your profile picture and that account's identifier. We never store your password.

Content: the projects you publish (name, description, logo, categories and links), the support you give and the reports you send.

Discord: if you verify the Alquimista badge, we store your Discord identifier and check whether you are still a member of the server in order to revalidate it.

Technical data: to keep your session and prevent abuse we store the IP address, the browser and the dates of your active sessions. We also measure site usage in an aggregated, anonymous way.

What we use it for

To create and maintain your account, publish and moderate Launchpad projects, count support and build the ranking, email you notices about your account and your projects, prevent spam and abuse, and understand in general terms how the site is used so we can improve it.

We don't sell or rent your data, we don't run advertising with it, and we don't use it to build commercial profiles.

What is public

Approved projects are public, along with the name and profile picture of whoever published them. Your email address is never shown publicly.

Support is shown as a total; we don't publish who supported what.

Cookies

We only use necessary cookies: one to keep you signed in and another to remember the language you chose. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the providers that keep the site running, and only for that purpose: Vercel (hosting, usage measurement and image storage), Neon (database), Better Auth (sessions and abuse protection), Google and Discord (sign-in) and Resend (email delivery).

We may also share information if required by a competent authority or if it is necessary to protect the community.

Where it is stored

Data is hosted on those providers' servers, which may be located in other countries. By using the site you understand that your information may be processed outside where you live.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is active. If you ask us to close it, we delete your account and your personal data.

We may keep certain technical records needed for security for a limited time, and projects already published may remain in the directory without personal data, unless you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

You can ask us to access your data, correct it, update it, unlink your Discord account or delete everything. Write to us and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

To verify the request we'll ask you to write from the email address linked to your account.

Minors

The site is not directed at children under 13. If we find an account belonging to someone under that age, we delete it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information, but no system is infallible. If we detect an incident affecting your data, we'll communicate it through the community channels.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we update this page and its date. Significant changes are announced on the site.
